The Uefa declared that they have decided to
withdraw John Terry´s suspension if Chelsea wins against Bayern Munchen. It
would be strange for the team to celebrate without their captain. The captain
had been suspended in the match against Barcelona, because of his display of
violent behaviour. It will be a very important match for the English team if
they win the semi-finals, and it would be unthinkable for the players to view
the match from the stands between all of the supporters. This is a dilemma. On
one hand, the captain cannot be missed, but on the other hand, he did get suspended, so it wouldn’t be fair to
the other suspended players if he would get different treatment.
I think this is a very sympathetic action
coming from the Ufea. In my opinion, every football player should be treated the
same way. It shouldn’t make a difference what position the player holds or
whether it is the captain of a team or not. In this case the offence which got John Terry suspended was fairly
mild, and the match will be extremely important. I can understand this, but I
think that the captain should be extra careful on the field to avoid such situations.
If he doesn’t want to get suspended for such an important match, he should care
for the team by acting responsibly, especially after receiving his first yellow
card.
